What's So Important?
|
I GOT MARRIED! Can you believe it? After all these years I finally tied the knot! That luscious beauty at the end of my arms is my lovely bride, formerly known as Samantha Ann MarQuard. (Am I dorky looking in this photo, or what? You try maintaining your sanity when the most beautiful woman in the world gives you her hand in marriage and says she wants to spend the rest of her life with you!!! I was lucky just to keep my bladder in control, much less my wits.) God has truly blessed me with the most gorgeous, warm-hearted, talented, amazing woman on the face of the earth. I am fortunate beyond my greatest expectations!

Ta daaa! There she is, the completely stunning Samantha Atteberry, the woman of my dreams, (who I somehow managed to brainwash into marrying me). This is a little “snapshot” I took of her when she modeled a line of scarves for a shoot we did together. That’s right, she’s a model! Is she amazing or what? And she comes with a heart of gold, a Christ-like spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. I know, I know, enough about the amazing wife already, I'm beginning to overtake maple syrup in sappiness.

What else is so important that it just had to make the “What’s So Important” page of my all new and improved, temporary website? Church! That’s right, church!! (No, not the one above, although, admittedly, that is a photo I took of a church, but it's not my church per se. Mine’s different.) Try to imagine the church above… only about two hundred times bigger… in the heart of Los Angeles… on top of Mulholland Drive… you startin’ to get an idea in your head? Think you know which one is mine? That's right! I'm talking about Bel Air Presbyterian Church!! My home away from home, my “Hakuna Matata,” the source of my greatest joy... actually, second greatest, my greatest joy comes from God himself... okay, third greatest, because my wife comes after God, but before church... I know, quit now and cut my losses. Enough said, church is important.
All joking aside, Bel Air Presbyterian Church has been a wonderful haven for me the past several years. It's where I spend my Sundays and a few of my weekdays as well. Why, you ask? Because it is a God-fearing, Bible-preaching, openhearted home church that has welcomed me, scars and all, with loving arms. Because my heart belongs to Christ and I can worship him there. Because it is where I can go to pray, to sing and to hang out with some of the coolest people on the face of the earth. Because I am involved in, and deeply devoted to, the Drama Ministry (also known as BADD, Bel Air Drama Department. Cute, ain't it!), the always-needed Prayer Ministry (and by all means, if you ever want prayer or need me to pray for anything, please email me. I'd love to do that for you!), and because the preaching is awesome! Come check it out, won't you!
Besides, in this crazy, whacked out world we call Hollywood, you need something to ground you and to bring you back to reality. You need a place that tears you away from all the glamour and glitz and phoniness of Tinseltown and places you firmly back in the hands of peace and reality, God's hands. That place for me is Bel Air Pres. But don't take my word for it, come check it out yourself. Their website is: http://www.belairpres.org. Or, just click the link below.
