Mark Atteberry is an award-winning actor, director and photographer as well as a frequent lecturer on the techniques and business of acting. Mark has made his living primarily as an entertainer for over 30 years. He began his career as a professional musician, playing both trombone and keyboards. But, after graduating from Biola University with a degree in music, and as a result of playing in numerous pit orchestras, the acting bug bit and Mark made the transition to acting.

 

As an actor Mark’s film work ranges from blockbuster hits like David Fincher’s “Gone Girl” and Ang Lee’s “The Hulk” to notable indies like the “The Future” (which opened the Sundance film festival in 2011), “Butterfly Circus” and “Stained,” (for which he received his first Best Actor nomination). Mark's television work includes hit series like "For The People,"(which put him in comsideration for an Emmy nomination) "S.W.A.T.," "Grace & Frankie," "Code Black," "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Rush Hour," "Scandal," “The Newsroom,” “Bones,” “Grey's Anatomy,” “Criminal Minds,” “Luck,” “Dexter,” “House, M.D.” “Rules of Engagement,” “The Closer,” “The Mentalist,” “Justified,” “Big Love,” “The Shield,” “The Young and the Restless,” “24,” “Nip/Tuck” and more.

 

Mark is also a renown photographer and is internationally known for his advertising, documentary and headshot work. His clients include NBC, CBS, A&E, Bravo, CAA, ICM, WME, Venice Magazine, and Big Lots. Mark was recently chosen as one of the "Best Headshot Photographers in Los Angeles" by BackStage West magazine and in 2010 he was honored by the Photography for Social Change Foundation as one of the “World’s Top 100 Documentary-Style Photographers.“

 

Known as “LA’s Type Specialist,” Mark also teaches and lectures regularly around the globe on the subjects of "Branding, Image and Type" and “Acting in LA.” He has co-written several books on the topic of acting including "The Working Actor's Guide to LA" and "The Stunt Guide." Mark is the founder and owner of the “Be A Working Actor Studios” in Los Angeles.
